D.E.E.P. is a multi-talented native Californian who recently moved to the third coast of Houston, TX. Her God-given gifts in the arts has allowed her the opportunity to travel all over the world entertaining the masses. The poet/author/singer/songwriter/actress/ photographer  has been performing her entire life. 

THE POET/ AUTHOR

 Ranked the #2 Best female poet in the world in 2008, D.E.E.P. has established herself as a notable nationally-known poet and author. She published her first collection of poetry, "Heartstrings and Lamentations," at the tender age of 19. She went on to compete in her first national poetry slam in her senior year of college as a member of the 2004 Collegiate Poetry Slam Team for the University of Michigan. After falling in love with the National poetry slam team she moved to Houston and became a member of the 2007 Houston Poetry Slam and 2008 H-Town National Poetry Slam Teams.  She served as the Slammaster and three-time member of the Houston VIP Slam Team. 

D.E.E.P. was crowned the Cafe Nuba Slam Champion of Denver, CO in 2008.

 She has also been featured as opening acts for such artists as Talib Kweli, MC Lyte, Mayor Annise Parker of Houston, TX, Amiri Baraka, John Legend, Slum Village, Karen Clark-Sheard, Def Poet Sunni Patterson, Def Comedy Jam's Rodman, Regie Gibson, and many more.

THE SINGER/SONGWRITER

"It sounds like hearts being healed and souls being restored," the native Californian replies when asked what listeners can expect to hear on her upcoming album The Unifinished Work of a Genius.

As a singer, she was able to embrace the road as a touring member of the nationally-known Michigan Gospel Chorale. She aso served as a Praise team Member for at Free Indeed International Church. Her debut album, The Unfinished Work of  Genius, combined her love for music with her powerful wordplay and serve as a fresh revelation for all those with an open ear to listen.

D.E.E.P. has been dabbling in freelance photography for the last four years. Her love for images began at an early age when her father put a camera in her hand. It has been love ever since.
